Kate is beautiful 9 year old white kitty that was diagnosed with bladder stones. Unfortunately the stones have begun to severely affect Kate’s health and need to be surgically removed. Thanks to some very kind donors, Cats in Crisis is able to offer a Mesa Grant so that Kate can have this much needed surgery. She is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tues Feb 16th.

Gimpy is a beautiful young cat that was found by a good Samaritan in late December as he was wandering the streets with an inured leg. She took him to the vet who diagnosed Gimpy with having a severe injury to his front shoulder that unfortunately could not be repaired. To give Gimpy better mobility and quality of life, the vet recommended amputation. CIC was pleased to offer a Gillie Grant to help with this surgery and is even more pleased to report that Gimpy’s surgery was a great success! Gimpy is now adjusting to life as a happy tripod kitty in a new, loving, indoor home!

All of us at CIC want to wish you and yours a fantastic, joyous holiday season! As 2009 winds down, we want to take another moment to thank all of our sponsors and supporters–you are the best! Without your contributions, we wouldn’t be able to help cats needing medical attention. We also want to thank the caregivers out there who are willing to turn over every stone in order to try to find help with their furry friends’ medical conditions!
Warmest regards,
CIC Administration

On Monday, November 23, CIC marked its 5th anniversary! The past couple of years have been very challenging for CIC in dealing with highly reduced donations due to the on-going poor economy. CIC continues to be extremely grateful for all supporters, donors, and friends during this difficult time. Please consider making a donation–every bit helps in CIC’s efforts to save the lives of cats in need!
Best regards,
CIC Administration

Normally, CIC doesn’t help directly with adopting special needs cats. However, the Adams County SPCA in Gettysburg, PA, approached us and asked us if we could showcase one very special kitty on our website to help get her adopted. After reviewing her story, we couldn’t say no!
If you, or someone you know, have been thinking of adopting, please consider Patches! Read more about her, and then contact the Adams County SPCA for more information:

UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that Patches has been adopted! We wish Patches and her new caregivers the best of luck!

Homey is a sweet, 14-year-old calico kitty that has been diagnosed with Chronic Renal Failure. She needs special food, medication and fluid therapy to help with her chronic medical condition.
Cats in Crisis is pleased to offer a Mesa Grant so that this special kitty’s caregiver could continue ordering her much needed veterinary supplies. We are grateful to the donors who have made it possible for CIC to offer this special kitty a Mesa Grant!
May 28, 2009: It is with a sad heart that we inform our friends and supporters that Homey has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our thoughts are with her caregiver during this difficult time.
